Art for me is a personal need to express social and human issues, and a means to externalize my inner self, as well as trying to improve them. Being Engineer and working in informatics as Project Manager PMP® did not give much free time to dedicate to art, so when children became more independent, I was able to pursue my artistic passion. This journey in the artworld has been a wonderful experience, and a fantastic source of self understan- ding and human and soul communication with others. The work I have been doing is expressed in several media (graphite, oil, china ink, carbon, aquarelle, etching, stained glass, stone, ceramics, analogic photography, cyanotype, music). In the meantime, I also have been learning Philosophy, Art History at the “Fine Arts University” in Lisbon, exhibiting my Art- work, and networking with different artists at several geographic cultures. First work bought was exhibited at IBM® Portugal in 2010. In 2016, two of my works, „Night“ and „Neptun“, won the prize in „Teixeira de Pascoaes 2016 International Artistic Contest“ Painting Award, chosen by a jury of renowned artists, assembled to comemorate the birth of the most importante portu- guese romantic poet Teixeira de Pascoaes. In 2017, the work “Enjoy the Silence” was chosen by the “Paula Rego Artistic Contest” and exhibited during three months, in the museum “Casa das Histórias de Paula Rego” in Lisbon, Portugal, and pu- blished in this Museum Catalog. The set of works presented in this catalog, are grouped in an exhibition named “Self”, and express the hidden version of ourselves versus the public image shown in society.
